Mama’s Potholders
Speaking of potholders, I also made these ones, which I gave to my mom:

Here they are up close:

And look! You can hang them up!

Set of 2 Pale Yellow Potholders
My first Etsy listing! I made these in Santa Barbara and on the way down. They’re made out of cotton yarn.

Luckily, I figured out how to shape them correctly, so these ones do not look like stingrays.

Jil’s Elf Hat
My sister is turning 19 on Monday, so I wanted to make her something. Her request was a “funky” hat — “You make a lot of hats,” she said, “but they’re all plain.” So here was my attempt at funkiness.

It was difficult to keep the shape even while I was making this little pattern, and also the fact that all the yarns were different types and weights didn’t help so much. I think it looks ok though!

Here are the ear-flaps — a key part of the request.

And now I am the elf!

Set of 6 Teal Potholders
They let me onto the airplane with my crochet hook (tangentially, Heathrow security is the funniest thing ever), so I started working on these potholders for my dad and his wife.

This was my first try at this design, so they aren’t that perfectly shaped.

My dad says they look like stingrays. I think stingrays are cool.

Jil’s Handwarmers
AMENDMENT. One more thing from the UK:

These I made for my sister. But here they are on my hands!

Here’s the flower close up, & there are more photographs on Flickr (this is true for most of my posts).
