One of the nice things about living where I do in San Francisco is that Imaginiknit is right around the corner. Oh, how I love Imaginiknit. Oh, what a burden on my wallet that love is.

Anyway, the other day Emily and I walked into Imaginiknit (my second time in one week, awful, I know, but she was going to France the day after and really wanted to go, and I wouldn’t have been a good friend if I had refused). We started browsing through the sock yarn (she, a knitter desirous of a pair of warm socks to cuddle her through the Chicago winter), and I looked up and saw to my delight and dismay a skein of beautiful slate blue Cascade Magnum yarn. I tried to resist, but…
