Wallet-pouch with flower!
Wallet-pouch with flower!, originally uploaded by shanecrochets.
I made this for myself after a failed felting experiment! Turned out pretty well, I think. There’s a flower on the back, but you’ll just have to go to my Flickr to see that

Green and Purple Arm Warmers
Speaking of me breaking the bank at Imaginknit, there was some other delicious yarn that I bought there that fateful day with Emily. This was Drops Eskimo yarn, in Bordeaux and in Yellowgreen. They are both very aptly named, I think. Anyway, I used these yarns to make some arm warmers, partially on Muni and partially while watching an excellent Star Trek (DS9) episode about Dr. Bashir and some other genetically modified humans. Yay for Dr. Bashir!

As always, there are more pictures of these on Flickr! And, they are also for sale at my Etsy shop

Jil’s Elf Hat
My sister is turning 19 on Monday, so I wanted to make her something. Her request was a “funky” hat — “You make a lot of hats,” she said, “but they’re all plain.” So here was my attempt at funkiness.

It was difficult to keep the shape even while I was making this little pattern, and also the fact that all the yarns were different types and weights didn’t help so much. I think it looks ok though!

Here are the ear-flaps — a key part of the request.

And now I am the elf!

Black, White, and Purple Squiggly Hat
Speaking of hats and trains, I started this one on the same train ride, but it wasn’t finished until Glasgow.

It resulted in my first crochet sale ever! Amazing!
